Family members of a mentally ill man who was shot and killed by Dallas police are demanding the release of video in the case.
Officers killed 39-year-old Jason Harrison outside his home on Glencarin Drive on June 15.
Attorney Geoff Henley said Harrison’s mother had called for help that day because he was schizophrenic and needed medical attention.
Police said the officers fired at Harrison when he lunged at them with a screwdriver, but Harrison’s mother disputes that claim.
“Jason didn’t lunge at anyone,” Shirley Harrison said through her attorney. “They didn’t have to kill him. He wasn’t threatening anyone. They did not have to gun my boy down.”
The medical examiner determined Harrison was shot multiple times in the back. His death was ruled a homicide.
Homicide is not the word the heroes wanted to hear.Still I predict a plea deal for wreckless endangerment or some such bullshit charge.Heroes don't do murder.
A no-bill is also a distinct possibilty.

Houston cop leaves family's blind dog in the street after traffic stop
HOUSTON -
The mayor of Houston has apologized to a family whose blind pet Chihuahua was left behind and killed following a traffic stop.
KTRK first reported it happened earlier this month. A Houston Police Department officer pulled over Josie Garcia’s husband for allegedly failing to use a turn signal.
The officer found drugs in the vehicle that belonged to her husband’s friend, so he arrested both men.
But he allegedly wouldn’t let Garcia’s husband call anyone to pick up Guero, the family’s 14-year-old Chihuahua who can’t really see because of cataracts, according to HoustonPress.com.
Garcia claims the vehicle was towed and the officer made them leave the dog on the side of the road. He didn't even call animal control, she said.
Guero died after being hit by a car on a freeway ramp about a half a mile away.
Over a failure to signal and some drugs.How callous and uncaring do you got to be to do some shit like that.
