Hurst house hit by vehicle for the ninth time
Nine vehicles have crashed into Russ Kidwell's Hurst home since he started living there 17 years ago.
"This is my residence," Kidwell told NBC 5. "And as you can see I have a car in my dining room."
Hurst emergency crews responded to the vehicle that crashed through a brick privacy wall and then into a home in the 2600 block of Bent Ridge Drive early Thursday morning.
According to crash investigators, the 2002 Ford four-door vehicle was traveling east on Martin Drive when the driver failed to stop at the intersection at Mid-Cities Boulevard, crossed over three lanes, struck the center median divider, bounded over three additional lanes, hit the curb, crashed through the brick wall, and finally came to a stop -- inside the home's dining area.
"There’s no way to make it across six lanes of traffic. And as you see here, it’s heavy," Kidwell said about the intersection.
Holy fuck has no one in Hurst heard of bollards.I would make a nice picket fence with bollards as posts.
I certainly wouldn't be asking for permission from the city to protect my house. The second time would have been the charm for me.
For those that don't know what a bollard is a visual aid.
